What LineItem is
LineItem is for anyone whose work and personal spending run through the same cards. Bring your transactions in — by connecting a bank, uploading statements, or typing them — then mark each charge personal or work, or split it between the two. Import the reimbursement paperwork your employer sends back, and LineItem matches each line to the purchase it covers, so you can see what you are still owed.
Common questions
Does LineItem see my bank password?
No. You sign in to your bank inside Plaid's secure screen. LineItem never receives or stores your bank username or password.
How far back does a bank connection go?
Up to twelve months, depending on how much history your bank provides. For anything older, upload the statement as a PDF.
It says my bank is already connected.
Each bank can be connected once. To reconnect it, open Settings → Connected Banks, disconnect it, then connect it again. Transactions you already have are kept.
What happens to a statement after I upload it?
It is read, the transactions are pulled out, and the file itself is deleted straight away.
Why does the app ask before reading a document?
Reading a document can mean sending it to Anthropic's AI to pull out the transactions. The app asks first, and sends nothing if you decline.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete Account. It disconnects your banks and permanently deletes your account and everything in it.
