What All Six is

All Six is a dice game for iPhone. You throw six dice, set aside whichever ones score, and then make the only decision in the game: bank the points you have collected, or throw the rest again and risk losing every point from that turn. Push too far and you bust; stop too early and your opponent walks past you.

You can play on your own against computer opponents, each with a different appetite for risk, work your way up a sixteen-stage ladder, hand the phone back and forth in pass-and-play, or open an online table and play against someone else in real time. Badges you earn along the way bend the rules slightly in your favour — an extra die, a reroll, a second chance after a bad throw.

There is no wagering, no currency, nothing to buy, and no account to create. Solo and pass-and-play work with no internet connection at all.

How a turn works

Throw six dice. Tap every die you want to keep, then set them aside — every die in a pick has to be part of something that scores, so you cannot smuggle a dead die alongside a good one. Then either throw whatever is left again, or bank what you have and pass.

If a throw shows nothing that scores at all, you bust and lose everything you had built up that turn.

Set aside all six dice and all six come back to you, with your score so far carried over. That is hot dice, and it is how the big turns happen.

Common questions

Why will the app not let me set aside these dice?

Every die in a pick has to be part of something that scores. A 1 and a 2 together is not a legal pick, because the 2 scores nothing on its own. Dice that cannot score in any combination are shown dimmed.

My friend cannot join my table.

Table codes are four characters and never contain the letters O or I or the digits 0 and 1, so there is nothing in them that can be misread aloud. Check that both devices have a connection.

Tables also close themselves about thirty minutes after they go quiet. If yours has been sitting open for a while, close it and open a new one.

My opponent dropped out in the middle of a game.

The app tries to reconnect on its own for about a minute, and your seat is held for you while it does. If the other player has genuinely gone, leave the table and start a new one.

Does All Six work without an internet connection?

Yes. Solo games against a computer opponent and pass-and-play are both fully offline. Only "play online" needs a connection.

My badge does not seem to be doing anything.

Check whether your opponent is wearing the Badge of Defence, which nullifies your badge for the whole game. A nullified badge is shown greyed out and outlined on the scoreboard.

Is there any gambling in this game?

No. There is no wagering, no real or virtual currency, and nothing to buy. The "purse" is simply the score you are racing towards.

How do I turn off the haptics or the sound?

Open Settings from the gear on the home screen. Haptics, sound and hints each have their own switch.

Do I have to use Game Center?

No. Game Center is only used for leaderboards. You can decline it when the app first opens, or turn it off in the iOS Settings app, and everything in the game still works.
